Our Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) project, funded by Akina Mama wa Afrika, is dedicated to integrating a feminist perspective into climate action. Implemented in the Kafue District, specifically in Kapongo, Shimabala, Lukolongo, and Mpande wards
This project focuses on amplifying the voices of women in climate justice. Since 2021, WLWF has been implementing this project.the program has not only elevated marginalized and minority communities but also strengthened their resilience ensuring their perspectives and experiences are central to policy discussions and climate solutions, we aim to create inclusive and effective climate strategies that address the unique challenges faced by women.
The Farmer Managed Seed Systems project, funded by ARA, effectively carried out from 2023 to 2024 with support from the Adaptation Research Alliance, was led by WLWF. It. This project aimed to establish sustainable food systems through community-managed seed banks.
The project focused on exploring and promoting the value of indigenous knowledge and adopting seed management practices that both preserve traditional crops and enhance the prominence of underutilized crops for food and nutrition security. By integrating indigenous knowledge with advanced technology, the program demonstrated how these lesser-known crops can boost agricultural resilience
Our Decoding Injustice project, funded by the Centre for Economic and Social Rights (CESR), addresses systemic inequalities and advocates for social justice in the Kafue District, focusing on Kapongo, Shimabala, Lukolongo, and Mpande wards.
This ongoing project highlights and combats injustices in various forms, fostering a more equitable society. By engaging communities and raising awareness about rights and entitlements, we strive to create a fair and just environment for all residents, particularly those who are marginalized and is advantaged.
The Gender and Social Inclusion project, funded by the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), was successfully implemented in the Kafue District, covering Kapongo, Shimabala, Lukolongo, and Mpande wards. This initiative focused on promoting gender equity and social inclusion. By working to ensure that marginalized groups, especially women, have equal opportunities and representation in all aspects of community life, we fostered a more inclusive society.
